Another coronavirus-related death has been reported in Webster County by the Mississippi State Department of Health.
The new death, reported by the agency on Thursday, occurred between March 18 and Nov. 30, identified from death certificate reports. MSDH data indicates the victim was white. That brings the total number of virus-related deaths here to 49.
As of Sunday, the county had recorded 2,083 cases of COVID-19 — up 16 from the previous week. Total long-term care facility cases to date remain at 67 and the number of LTCF deaths remains at 14.
For the two-week period ending Nov. 29, the county had the 16th-highest incidence rate in the state with a 1% increase. Webster had seven cases via suspected community transmission for the week ending Dec. 4. As of Monday, 46% of the county's population is fully vaccinated, according to MDHS.
