On Tuesday May 14 at 7 p.m. there will be a free concert featuring three gifted musicians performing in French Camp. The concert will be at the French Camp Presbyterian Church, located on School Street, which is two blooks east of the Natchez Trace in French Camp.
The program will include a variety of light works by composers such as Mozart, Beach, De Falla, Bolcom, and Gershwin.
Violinist Alex Russell began playing at the age of 2 and never looked back. He has performed in a dozen countries across four continents both as a soloist and chamber musician. He holds performance degrees from The Cleveland Institute of Music and the University of Southern California. He is on the faculty of Azuza Pacific University in California.
Russell will be joined by two faculty members from Mississippi State University: Collaborative pianist, Anne Katherine Ragsdale, and Cello professor, Amy Catron. Dr. Catron is new to MSU and holds a performance degree from the Eastman School of Music.
Music students and all other lovers of music are highly encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to hear concert music performed by these outstanding artists.
