On December 12, the Louisville Board of Aldermen met briefly before the city employee Christmas party to conclude all business for December 2023.
At the brief meeting, the board heard and accepted the resignation of Gwenita Mays, who has served on the Board of Aldermen for sixteen years. The resignation was accepted, as Mays will begin serving Winston County as the new Circuit Clerk. Mays was honored by the Board with a resolution that will recognize her years of service to the city. Mays represented Ward 3 during her time in office.
The Board also heard and discussed a presentation from Neel-Schafer on street paving. No action was taken regarding the presentation.
The Board also accepted the sale of bonds by Crews and Associates of Little Rock, Arkansas. Regarding the Louisville Airport, the Aldermen voted to authorize the mayor to sign a Scope of Work document pertaining to the work of Clearwater Consultants on a 2024 MDOT project/grant.
After the meeting adjourned, city officials headed over to the Dome for the holiday party.
