The Choctaw County Partnership is excited to announce that the 2023 Choctaw County Christmas Parade will be in downtown Ackerman on Thursday, December 7th, at 6pm. This year’s theme is Christmas Around the World.
The Partnership and our Christmas Parade Committee would love to see floats and parade entries showcasing Christmas beliefs, activities, and more from places around the world. The Partnership is accepting parade entries now through November 27th.
The parade route will begin on Main Street (4-way stop at Commerce Street), travel down Main Street, turn right at the 4-way stop onto N. Louisville Street, travel to the 4-way stop, and turn right onto East Cherry Street to continue to Ackerman Baptist Church.
Concessions will be available to purchase before and during the Christmas Parade. The Mississippi Lignite Mining Company will be giving away hot chocolate.
This year, the parade’s presenting sponsor is the Town of Ackerman and is also sponsored by 4-County Electric Power Association, FastNet, Southern Company – Red Hills Operations, and TVA Ackerman Combined Cycle.
On the day of the Christmas Parade, shop the Silent Auction via Facebook. The Silent Auction will feature handmade items with a $25 value or more, and proceeds go to the Nursing Home Auxiliary.
