Thursday, the Choctaw County Partnership with presenting partner The Town of Ackerman held the Choctaw County Parade.
This year’s Grand Marshals were Keith and Ann Coleman. The Colemans, native of Choctaw County, have had a long tenure throughout the county and are the owners of Coleman Funeral Home.
Keith, after serving 10 terms as the county’s longtime coroner recently retired and in November, his son Chris, was elected to succeed his father.
The Colemans were escorted into the parade by Choctaw County Economic Director Randy Loper and his daughter, Emma Grace.
This year’s theme was all around the world as the floats represented Christmas, well, around the world.
Before the parade kicked off, children were able to enter a snow globe and even meet the big man himself- Santa Claus- before he rode in the parade with the Ackerman Fire Department.
