Easter is the celebration of our Lord and Risen Savior, and, along with this holy holiday comes fun traditions for children to enjoy. On Saturday, March 30, three events are planned for the children of Winston County.
The fun begins at 9:00 AM Saturday morning at Ivy Park in Louisville. This Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Louisville and is open to the public. Amanda Triplett, representing the organization, noted that prize baskets will be given to the boy and girl in each age group that collects the most eggs during the event. Triplett added, “Bring your own camera for pics with the Easter bunny!”
The town of Noxapater will also be the site of an Easter egg hunt, also open to the public, and, Noxapater Community Chamber Alliance Director Chasity Wells said that this Easter activity is “set for 11:00 AM, with lunch, crafts, and games taking place at that time. With the 11 O’clock start, this gives children the opportunity to participate in the Junior Auxiliary egg hunt at 9:00 AM and then travel to Noxapater for another round of fun as we celebrate the risen Savior!”
Wells noted that in the event of rain, the hunt will be held in the Family Life Center of the Noxapater Baptist Church.
The Noxapater Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the J.W. Young Park on Highway 15, and members of the community are excited about the event, including city officials. Mayor Sammy Carter offered his support for the event, asking parents in Noxapater and all across the county to bring their children to participate the Saturday before Easter.
The third event taking place on Saturday, March 30, is to be held at 2:00 PM at the Nanih Waiya Community Park, sponsored by Butler Pentecostal Church. This event is an Easter Egg Drop, and is also open to the public.
