At a regular meeting of the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors, held on Monday, May 16, representatives of the American Legion presented a vision for a memorial garden which would be built on the Courthouse lawn near the monument; the representatives were seeking permission to build such a garden which would honor all Choctaw Countians who have or are currently serving in the armed forces. The Board voted unanimously to grant permission.
In other action, the Board:
• Heard an annual report from Community Counseling.
• Voted 5-0 to approve claims.
• Voted 5-0 to approve travel to Starkville for PERS training on July 26.
