At the bi-monthly meeting of the city’s Board of Aldermen, city officials approved two promotions at the Louisville Police Department as well as approved a promotion in Solid Waste.
Virginia McDonald was promoted to the rank of Sergeant effective February 22, 2024. Toby Lee was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, effective on the same date.
Solid Waste would bring forward the resignation of one employee and approve a new hire effective on February 22. John Pruden has been promoted to Street Department Superintendent; this will also become effective on February 22, 2024.
Mayor Will Hill provided an update on paving, which began recently due to improved weather conditions. The mayor encouraged everyone to be patient and plan for possible delays as paving crews move through town.
In Capital Projects, a payment to Shafer Welding was approved in the amount of $38,900.00. This was for the completion of a roof on the Activity Building. The board also approved a payment to PPM in the amount of $7,942.95 regarding the Brownfield project.
Erin Shore, director for the Louisville Animal Shelter, was approved to travel to the Animal Care Expo in San Antonio, Texas between May 15 – 18.
The board was also reminded of the following upcoming events: the Ward 3 special election – to be held at the Louisville Coliseum on March 5 for citizens of Ward 3, the Governor’s Job Fair at the Dome to be held on March 7, and the Red Hills Festival to be held on May 18.
