Miss Mississippi State University Emmie Perkins was the guest speaker at the Controllers 4-H Clubs’ I Love Me Ministry program on Feb. 6
Perkins told how stories connect and bring us together. She also had all attendees hold up their hands. Perkins explained that if fingerprints were taken, not one person’s would be the same as another.
She sang “Amazing Grace,” and she and volunteers, parents and members sang “Jesus Loves Me.”
Along with her was Dr. Joan Butler, her grandmother and retired director of Emerson Family Center (now Discovery Center). Dr. Butler is also a former teacher and director of organization leader Rose Coffey Graham.
Pictures were taken with Perkins and she received encouraging words as she prepared for the Miss Mississippi Pageant.
I Love Me Ministry founder Akeah Graham gave closing remarks.
