The Winston County Distinguished Young Women program will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 6:00 pm at the Louisville High School auditorium.
Winston County has been involved in America’s Junior Miss and now Distinguished Young Women since 1961 under the sponsorship of a host of organizations, and currently The Winston County Distinguished Young Women Committee, who are extremely proud to be sponsoring the program in its 62nd year in Winston County.
They are pleased to introduce you to the six talented young women who will participate in the program.
Participant #1 is Haley Virginia Harris, daughter of Taylor and Laura Harris. She is a junior at Winston Academy, and plans to attend Mississippi State University to pursue a career in orthodontics. She will be playing Scott Joplin’s “Maple Leaf Rag” on the piano for her talent.
Participant #2 is Julianna Kate Sims, daughter of Brian and Laura Sims. She is a junior at Winston Academy, and plans to attend the University of Mississippi to pursue a career as a physician. For her talent, she will be singing Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”.
Participant #3 is Sadie Jules Stevenson, daughter of Chris and Tonya Stevenson. She is a junior at Winston Academy, and plans to attend Mississippi State University to pursue a career as a radiation oncologist. She will be playing Hugo Reinhold’s “Impromptu O. 28, No. 3 in C Sharp Minor” on the piano for her talent.
Participant #4 is Betsy Karson Hatcher, daughter of Josh and Natalie Hatcher. She is a junior at Winston Academy, and plans to attend Delta State University to pursue a career as an elementary teacher. For her talent, she will be speed painting to a medley of Elvis Presley songs.
Participant #5 is Jaylee Kathrine Stokes, daughter of Jay and Britni Stokes, and Keith and Megan Alexander. She is a junior at Nanih Waiya Attendance Center, and plans to attend East Central Community College and the Mississippi University for Women to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse. She will be playing Irvin Berlin’s “God Bless America” on the piano and performing an original monologue for her talent.
Participant #6 is Ella Claire Gregory, daughter of Bart and Jennifer Gregory, and Brian and Jennifer Collier. She is a junior at Winston Academy, and plans to attend Mississippi State University to pursue a career as a rheumatologist. For her talent, she will singing Jule Styne’s “Don’t Rain on My Parade”.

Our mission is to empower young women by providing over $1 billion in scholarship opportunities, connecting with a nationwide network of women, developing their self-confidence, and participating in our Life Skills Workshops that prepare them for success after high school.
