The Noxapater basketball teams tried their hands at a pair of Webster County teams and only came away with one win in four contests. The Tigers took a 76-60 win over Eupora on Tuesday but then fell 72-58 to East Webster on Thursday. The Lady Tigers dropped a tough 52-50 decision to Eupora on Tuesday and then fell 61-49 to East Webster. Noxapater will return from the Thanksgiving break and will host Eupora on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The following week, they will host rival Nanih Waiya on Tuesday, Dec. 6 and play at Choctaw County on Friday, Dec. 9. Eupora girls 52, Noxapater 50 The Lady Eagles overcame a fourthperiod deficit to take a tight two-point win over the Lady Tigers on Tuesday. Eupora led 13-10 at the end of the first period before Noxapater outscored the Lady Eagles 15-11 in the second period to lead 25-24 at the half. Noxapater then outscored Eupora 14- 11 in the third and led 39-35 going to the fourth. Eupora took the fourth period 17- 11 to take the win. Asia Glass had 11 points and three assists while Caroline Swindler had nine points and eight rebounds. Cambree Moore had seven points while Morgan Woods had six points. Kaliyah Moore and Nadia Gates each had five points apiece. Noxapater boys 76, Eupora 60 The Tigers used a steady supply of offense as they took a 16-point win over the Eagles. Noxapater jumped out to a 20-11 lead in the first period and led 35-27 at the half. The Tigers extended the lead in the third period as they outscored the Eagles 22-18 and led 57-45 going to the fourth where each team scored 19 points. Kyle Phillips led the Tigers with 23 points while Shamarion Hardin had 14 points. Javion Eichelberger had 12 points and Keon Tucker had nine. James Kugle scored seven points, and M.J. Harrison had six points. East Webster girls 61, Noxapater 49 The Lady Wolverines built a big lead and took a 12- point win over the Tigers. East Webster outscored Noxapater 14-9 in the first and 16-7 in the second to lead 30-16 at the half. East Webster then outscored Noxapater 20-14 in the third to extend the lead to 50- 30 going to the fourth. Noxapater took the fourth period 19-11 for the final margin. Asia Glass led Noxapater with 21 points while Nadia Bates had 10 points. Laney Boatner had seven points, and Cambree Moore added five points. East Webster boys 72, Noxapater 58 The Tigers got another big game from Kyle Phillips, but it wasn’t enough as the Wolverines took a 14- point win. East Webster took a 23-15 lead in the first period and outscored Noxapater 15-8 in the second to lead 38-23 at the half. Noxapater took the third period 16-15 and each team scored 19 points in the fourth period for the final margin. Phillips led the Tigers with 37 points while Shamarion Hardin had six points.
