Praise the Lord, God is good and his mercy endureth forever!
You know we all have experienced the mercy of God and those that are not living for the Lord didn’t even recognize that it was the mercy of God that brought you through many of the things you came through.
Most of the time we go on our way thinking it was something we did that brought us through. But I want you to know that without God we can do nothing. I can’t even breathe without the Lord putting air in my lungs and then having my lungs to work like he created them to do. Oh, if people would praise him and thank him for all that he does.
I read a pretty hard verse in James 4:4 where he called people adulterers and adulteresses. We all know what adultery is, it’s when you go with someone else besides your wife or husband. Well the Lord was talking to those that are supposed to be married to Christ, but going with the world on the side. You say, “Well Sis. Linda we live in the world.”
Yes we do but we don’t have to prefer the world over our own Lord and Savior. We have too many that would rather be doing other things than going to the house of the God and being with people of God. The rest of that verse says, “Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
When you look up that word enmity, it means hostility, opposition or hatred and we know what a friend is. It means that we had rather be with our friend than be with God.
That is until we are going through a trial and we need his help once again. The Lord wants to be our friend so we would want to spend a lot of time with him.
