E911 Telecommunicator Position Available
Louisville E911 is currently looking to fill a full-time position for telecommunicator/dispatcher. Shifts are 6:00a.m.-6:00p.m. And 6:00p.m.-6:00a.m. Shifts rotate every 3 months, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is vital to our community’s safety, involving receiving emergency 911 and non-emergency requests for law enforcement assistance, fire personnel, and EMS, dispatching necessary units to call, over the radio, and utilizing computer-aided dispatch software. Although work is performed within established policies and procedures, the dispatcher must exercise good judgement during emergencies. On-the-job training will provide knowledge in police, fire, and EMS operations as well as the geographical layout of the city and county. Tasks and duties are learned through on-the-job training, with employees following standard procedures, ensuring you have the support you need to succeed.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, must be able to type 35 wpm, be familiar with computers and basic office equipment, able to multi-task, have good communication skills and problem-solving skills.
Due to the unpredictable and critical nature of the job, the candidate should be willing and available to work various shifts as assigned. Applicants must be able to pass an extensive background check and a drug test. This role offers a variety of tasks and challenges, ensuring you will always be engaged and learning.
