On June 25 and 26, The City of Louisville will be the next stop on the USDA Rural Community Development Initiative’s Real Estate Development Program. Louisville was one of several Mississippi Main Street communities chosen for the grant.
The tour will be conducted by Joe Borgstrom of Place + Main Advisors, a recognized real estate consultant with expertise in retail market analysis, real estate development, and economic development strategies, will lead the initiative.
Community leaders, business owners, and elected officials are encouraged to participate in the walking tour and share their input on what they would like to see downtown Louisville look like. What can be expanded, what can be improved and what can be added.
The concept of this discussion is to have a broad range of ideas and priorities from residents and visitors alike.
The grant will fund a comprehensive assessment of the local real estate market and help visualize potential growth opportunities aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors.
This walking tour is part of a broader initiative under the USDA's Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI) Real Estate Redevelopment program, which includes site visits to various communities across Mississippi.
The "Mississippi Real Estate Game Plan" provides a strategic approach to evaluating Main Street districts' potential for property redevelopment. Participating property owners will receive detailed assessments and recommendations to help determine the best uses for their properties, supported by market data and customized financial projections.
The initiative is funded by the Mississippi Main Street Association, a federal USDA grant, and local Main Street organizations, and is provided at no cost to the property owners.
