Choctaw County baseball followed up a 10-3 loss to Kosciusko last week with a 16-0 victory over McAdams Monday.
Connor Jewell and freshman Jaylon James combined for a three-inning no hitter against McAdams, with one walk. Trace Beard had a three-run triple and a double, Alex Telano doubled twice and Jewell had two hits.
It was a different story against Kosciusko, with the Chargers held to three hits. “We had 17 combined walks, hit batters and errors along with their eight hits for 25 base runners,'' said coach Justin Flake.
Kosciusko took a 9-0 lead before Choctaw County scored three runs in the sixth. Ques McNeal had two hits and Tyson Coleman one. Three Kosciusko pitchers combined for nine strikeouts.
Choctaw County played Kemper County Tuesday and will be at Oak Hill Thursday. The Chargers will participate in a Spring Break tournament at Sebastopol Monday with games against Lake and the host school.
GCS Eagles open 2021 baseball season

The Grace Christian School Eagles opened the 2021 baseball season with a 6-3 home loss to Calhoun Academy last week and looked to get into the win column this week when they visited Meridian Home School on Monday. The Eagles will not play again until March 16 when they travel across town to face the Louisville High School Wildcats.
Wes Agnew had a solid outing for GCS on the mound, striking out 11 and allowing just two earned runs. Coach Charlie Agnew’s GCS squad was led at the plate by Agnew who had two hits and an RBI, while Bonner Brownlee also had a hit and drove in a run.
