Because of inclement weather on Tuesday, March 4, the Choctaw County Forestry Association rescheduled its annual meeting. The meeting will now be held on Tuesday, March 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Chester Community Center, located at 44 E Road, Ackerman. There will be a meal before the meeting and the cost will be $10 per person.
The speaker will be John Auel, Certification Programs Coordinator for the Mississippi Forestry Association. He will give a presentation on “American Tree Farm System.” It will be followed by a update from James Shannon, MSU Extension Forestry Specialist for the Northeast District.
Annual dues will also be accepted at this meeting. Anyone who plans to attend should contact Darrell Banks, Choctaw County MSU Extension Service Director at 662-285-6337.
