As schools gets back into full swing a second week, the Chargers are working to bounce back from a two point loss to Starkville Academy over the Christmas break in the East Webster Christmas Tournament and get the break they’re looking for against Union.
The Lady Chargers are also looking to bounce back after falling to Kemper County in a makeup game from the McAdams Christmas as they also looked to bounce back against Union.
Chargers
In the contest between Starkville Academy and the Chargers, it was a back and forth battle with the Vols just edging out the Chargers 56 to 54.
The Chargers bounced back against the Union Yellowjackets in a 57-42 win. The Chargers were led by Senior Caleb Cunningham who put up 30 on the Yellowjackets. Junior KJ Cork added 12 points, Jayvion Lowery had six, Quayvion Lowery had four, Vari Carter had three and Chancen Mosley rounded it out adding two.
Lady Chargers
The Lady Chargers fell 37-51 to the Kemper County Lady Wildcats in a makeup game in the McAdams Christmas Tournament. The Lady Chargers tried to battle back against the Lady Wildcats, but they couldn’t close the gap.
They were able to bounce back against the Lady Yellowjackets ironically in a similar score, but in this game it was the Chargers that took the lead and the Lady Yellowjackets who had to work to close the gap.
The Chargers and Lady Chargers were set to play West Lowndes on the 10th, but the game was postponed due to the inclement weather. They are set to take on Aberdeen on the road tonight in district play.
