The Chargers have been on a roll following a loss to Eupora and are on a 4-1 run. The County Boys take on the Aberdeen Bulldogs in a double header tonight and then take on Noxapater tomorrow afternoon in Noxapater.
Chargers, 2, Noxapater 1
The County Boys were strong on the mound as Jack Hood was the starting pitcher and Lawson Stevens sealed the deal against the Tigers. Robby Curtis also took the mound against the Tigers. The Chargers got on the board in the third inning after going scoreless for the first two innings. In a game that went down to four innings, the third inning was the only inning anyone saw a score. Chargers saw scores from Vez Holman who scored off of a Tiger error and Moss Bruce who scored off of a RBI from Tate Miller.
The Chargers were strong on the bat, but the Tigers didn’t let much get by them. The Chargers were sure to return the favor to the Tigers who scored off of a steal. Hood pitched two innings and had two hitters and two strikeouts. Curtis pitched a half inning and had two hitters, Stevens pitched one inning and had one hitter, one run in, and one strike out. The Chargers had no walks and no errors.
Chargers, 10, Louisville 3
The County Boys then faced the Wildcats of Louisville. In this game, the Louisville took an early lead by one in the first inning and it would be the last lead the Louisville would see in the battle between the two. In the third and fourth innings, the Chargers came out strong with a combined nine runs between the two innings. Louisville was able to get in one more run before the game ended at the top of the fifth.
Moss Bruce, Anderson Chamblee and Peyton Thomas took to the mound in the game against the Wildcats. Bruce pitched two innings and had one hitter, Chamblee pitched one inning and had one hitter, one run in and four strikeouts. Thomas pitched one inning and had two hitters, two runs in, two errors, one strikeout and one walk.
Chargers saw runs in from Thomas, two from Lawson Stevens, Jack Hood, and two from Caeden Christensen.
Chargers, 0, Eupora 7
The Chargers fell to Eupora and were only able to get three hits in off of the Eagles. The Eagles had a huge second inning against the County Boys. And they were unable to find their footing against the Eagles in a dismal game.
Moss Bruce and Peyton Thomas were on the mound for the Chargers. Bruce pitched four innings, had five hitters, no runs in, and one strike out. Thomas had four hitters, seven runs in, seven errors, two strikeouts and three walks.
Chargers, 14, Bruce 7
Looking to bounce back from the Eupora game, the Chargers succeeded against the Bruce Trojans. Bruce had a one point lead over the County Boys until the sixth inning when the Chargers came up big on the bat and sealed the deal for the win. Bruce was able to get in one more run in the seventh before the game was called.
The Chargers got on the board when Brennan Telano brought in Tate Miller on a RBI and scored himself on an error. Bruce took the lead in the third and the score became 3-2. But Miller and Telano were able to score again, along with Peyton Thomas after a line drive by Lawson Stevens. In the top of the fifth, Bruce tied the game up again. And in the top of the sixth, Bruce got a homerun and another run.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Chargers went on a rally with Telano scoring on a balk, Seth Miller scoring on a single by Caden Christensen, Thomas scored on a Vez Holman walk, Jack Hood scored on a passed ball, Christensen scored off of Tate Miller walk, and Thomas hit a double to center, bringing in Tate Miller and Telano. And the Chargers went up 14-6 on the rally. Bruce was able to get in one more run before the game ended.
Chargers 13, Nanih Waiya, 2
Coming off of the Bruce win, the Chargers took on the Nanin Waiya Warriors. The Chargers walk away with a win. The County Boys came out strong in the first quarter and the Warriors were never able to come back. Nanih Waiya got the first run, but after that it was all Chargers. On a Stevens single, he brought in Telano and Tate Miller. Thomas scored after Christensen was hit by a pitch. Stevens and Hood scored on a Moss Bruce single. Tate Miller then brought in Bruce and Christensen, making the score 7-1.
In the bottom of the second, Thomas single bringing in Seth Miller. And then Thomas scored on a sacrifice hit by Hood. Nanih Waiya got its second run in at the top of the third and it was the last run the Warriors would get. The rest of the game would be all Chargers and the Chargers would take the win 13-2.
Chargers, 12 West Point, 0
Still on a run, the Chargers quickly put away the Green Wave in a run rule as they accumulated a total of 12 points between the second, third and fourth innings.
Chargers, 8, South Pontotoc, 5
After quickly making work of West Point, the Chargers ended non district with a win against South Pontotoc. The Chargers kept a lead throughout the game, but in the sixth and seventh innings, South Pontotoc made a rally to attempt to come back but fell short.
