On Monday, July 5, at around 6:40 p.m., a domestic dispute between Cedric Hudson and Santana Jones turned violent, as Hudson shot Jones in the chest with a .380 caliber handgun, resulting in injuries serious enough that Jones was airlifted from Winston Medical Center to University Medical Center in Jackson.
The incident took place on Young Crossing Road, in the Center Ridge Community.
Winston County Deputy, Scott Kohrs, who responded to the incident reported that the victim was transported to WMC by personal vehicle.
Hudson was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated assault-domestic. He appeared before Justice Court Judge Robert Beck, who set Hudson’s bond at $5K.
Hudson was subsequently released on bond, and at the time of this report Jones was in stable condition.
