The Lions and Eagles of 1973 Cancer Support Program was held on the evening of July 13 at Millspring Baptist Church.
Fifty-eight people were in attendance and nearly everyone received a door prize! We thank the Millspring Kitchen Committee for preparing food. Thanks to ladies from our communities that donated assorted homemade pies and cakes. The food was delicious!
Vice President Joe Evans gave his vision for starting a fundraising organization to help people struggling with cancer in Choctaw County. In his address to the crowd, he specifically encouraged the men to get regular checkups, while stressing the importance of early detection. At the event, eight models sported their Sunday best and casual attire.
Pastor Haywood Hannah from Jackson MS, who is a recording artist and a loyal native of Choctaw County, brought the entertainment along with his grandson and friends. Pastor Hannah also acted as the Master of Ceremony.
The program was very successful, and fun was had by all! The members of the Lion and Eagles Class of 1973 Cancer Support Group would like to thank Choctaw County and surrounding counties for their support. We continue to solicit your encouragement and donations.
