Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cookbook Fundraiser

Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Webster County has new cookbooks available: “Cooking with Grace II.” Proceeds will go toward the church’s 175th anniversary celebration on May 18, 2025. The cookbooks are $20 each. They are available at The Webster Progress-Times office in Eupora (58 N. Dunn) and other locations. For more information, call 662-258-3109.
Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Parade and Ceremony
January 25
The Annual NAACP MLK, Jr. Parade will be held on January 25 in Ackerman. The parade will begin line up at the Ackerman walking track at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. and ends at the Choctaw County Courthouse. The program will be convened upstairs. Dr. I. D. Thompson is the. Speaker. This year’s theme is “The Dream Still Lives”.
Little Miss and Miss Charger Pageant
January 31 and February 1, 2025
The Little Miss Charger Pageant will be held on January 31, 2025, at 6 p.m. and the Miss Charger pageant will be held on February 1, 2025, at 1 p.m.

Beginner Computer Class for Adults

There will be a beginning computer class for adults on the first and third Friday of every month at 3 p.m. There are 10 spots available. Call the library to reserve a spot.
Ackerman and Weir Silver Social Club

The Ackerman Silver Social Club meets every Monday at 9:30 a.m. and The Weir Silver Social Club will meet every Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Weir Library new hours
Weekly
The Weir Library will have new hours beginning this month. The new hours will be 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays and 9 a.m. until noon on Tuesdays. Weir Lego Club will be Monday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 and Silver Social Club will be on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
