Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cookbook Fundraiser Ongoing
Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Webster County has new cookbooks available: “Cooking with Grace II.” Proceeds will go toward the church’s 175th anniversary celebration on May 18, 2025. The cookbooks are $20 each. They are available at The Webster ProgressTimes office in Eupora (58 N. Dunn) and other locations. For more information, call 662- 258-3109.
Choctaw County Fall Jubilee November 16
The Ackerman Civic League will host the Choctaw County Fall Jubilee in downtown Ackerman. There will be a chili cookoff, car show, cornhole tournament, pet show, and more.
Holiday Schedule for Choctaw County Food Ministry November 13 and 20, December 11 and 18
With the upcoming holiday season, The Choctaw County Food Ministry will have some planned schedule adjustments. The Food Ministry will be closed on the 4th Wednesday in November (November 27) & the 4th Wednesday in December (December 25th). Pickups for WEEK 4 Food Clients ONLY (#’s 400-499) will need to be picked up on November 13 or November 20 for November and December 11 or December 18. In January, we will be closed on January 1, 2025. Week 1 and Week 2 will report on January 8, 2025.
Prairie Opportunity Community Meeting November 21
Prairie Opportunity, Inc. will have a community meeting for Choctaw County at the Choctaw County Library, 511 S. Louisville Street, Ackerman, at 9 a.m. on November 21, 2024.
Choctaw County Library Open House December 3
The Friends of the Library will hold its annual Choctaw County Library Open House on Tuesday, December 3 from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to set up a tree for the Festival of Trees. Businesses and organizations can begin setting up trees as soon as possible. Participants will also be able to hear local choirs and sip hot chocolate while voting for their favorite tree.
Choctaw County Christmas Parade December 9
Come join in the magic of a Whoville Christmas as the Choctaw County Partnership hosts the annual Choctaw County Christmas Parade. The parade will be held in downtown Ackerman on Monday, December 9. Those who want to participate can contact the Partnership for more information. More information about the parade will be released at a later date.
Little Miss and Miss Charger Pageant January 31 and February 1, 2025
The Little Miss Charger Pageant will be held on January 31, 2025, at 6 p.m. and the Miss Charger pageant will be held on February 1, 2025, at 1 p.m.

Beginner Computer Class for Adults Monthly
There will be a beginning computer class for adults on the first and third Friday of every month at 3 p.m. There are 10 spots available. Call the library to reserve a spot.
Ackerman and Weir Silver Social Club Weekly
The Ackerman Silver Social Club meets every Monday at 9:30 a.m. and The Weir Silver Social Club will meet every Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Recurring Events AA meetings Weekly

Many activities are available at the Ackerman and Weir branches year-round. Weir Library new hours Weekly
The Weir Library will have new hours beginning this month. The new hours will be 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays and 9 a.m. until noon on Tuesdays. Weir Lego Club will be Monday afternoons from 3:30- 4:30 and Silver Social Club will be on Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Choctaw County Democratic Party Meeting Monthly

Cross of Christ Devotion Monthly
Join us each first Monday at The Cross of Christ site in Eupora near the Highway 82 interchange from 7:15 am to 7:30 am for devotion and prayer. May All Glory Be to God!

The Town of Ackerman meets the first Tuesday of each month. The Town of Weir meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. The Town of French Camp meets the first Tuesday of each month. The Choctaw County Board of Supervisors meets the first and third Monday of each month. The Choctaw County School Board meets the second Monday of each month. American Legion Post 82 meets every second Monday of each month. Choctaw County TRIAD meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Choctaw County Library.
