Maben Veterans Program Nov. 9
Maben Mayoral Health Council will host its annual Veterans Program at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at Maben City Hall. The speaker will be Malvin Dailey, retired staff lieutenant from the Mississippi Army National Guard. All veteran attendees will be honored. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given away.
Brunswick stew fundraiser Nov. 9
The Mathiston Fire Department will be having a Brunswick stew fundraiser at 11 a.m. Nov. 9 at the fire station, 400 Church St. The cost is $30 a gallon; bring a container. Pre-orders will be filled first and available for pickup at 10 a.m. Country Music
Jamboree Nov. 9
The monthly Gospel Music Jamboree the Gore Springs Community Center will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 featuring Matt Butler and the Silver Eagle Band. Admission is $5.

Eupora Christmas Parade Dec. 3
The Eupora Christmas Parade will be Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. The theme is ìWinter Wonderlandî and Will Gary will serve as grand marshal. Entry forms are available at the Progress-Times (58. N. The Eupora Rotary Club, sponsor, is accepting parade entries through 1 p.m. Nov. 29; there is no cost for entry. Judges will award prizes for the first-, second- and third-place floats.
Maben Christmas Parade Dec. 7
The Maben Christmas Parade is set for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7. This yearís theme is ìA Holly Jolly Hometown Christmasî and Dr. Sue Simmons will serve as grand marshal. Prizes will be awarded to winning entries. Various festivities will follow the parade. Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cookbook fundraiser Ongoing
Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Webster County has new cookbooks available: ìCooking with Grace II.î Proceeds will go toward the churchís 175th anniversary celebration on May 18. The price is $20 each. Webster County Library hours
Webster County Public Library in Eupora is open four days each week to take care of many of your needs, such as sending and receiving faxes, copying, computer use, as well checking out the latest books for your reading pleasure. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Wednesday and noon- 6 p.m. Thursday. Storytime for PreK children is each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Anita Russell. The Maben Public Libraryís regular hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and noon-4:30 p.m.
