Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cookbook fundraiser Ongoing
Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Webster County has new cookbooks available: ìCooking with Grace II.î Proceeds will go toward the churchís 175th anniversary celebration on May 18. The price is $20 each. Providence Baptist Church revival Oct. 27-30
Providence Baptist Church in Choctaw County will be in revival Oct. 27-30. Sunday services will be at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and MondayWednesday services will begin at 7 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Thad Moore and Chris Coleman will render music.
L&A testing of voting equipment Oct. 28-30
The Webster County Circuit Clerksí Office at the Courthouse in Walthall will conduct Logic and Accuracy testing of voting equipment Oct. 28-30. The testing will be conducted in the main courtroom and is open to the public. This is in preparation for the Nov. 5 general election.
Absentee voting Through Nov. 2
In-person absentee voting for the Nov. 5 general election is available for those eligible during normal business hours at the Circuit Clerkís Office in Walthall. The office will also be open for absentee voting from 8 a.m.-noon both Saturdays before the election, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, which is the deadline.
SWCD new crop pecan sale Through Nov. 5
The Webster County Soil & Water Conservation District is taking orders for ìnew cropî pecans. Orders are due by Nov. 5 and will be available to pick up before Thanksgiving. Maben Veterans Program Nov. 9
Maben Mayoral Health Council will host its annual Veterans Program at 10 a.m. Nov. 9 at Maben City Hall. The speaker will be Malvin Dailey, retired staff lieutenant from the Mississippi Army National Guard. All veteran attendees will be honored. Webster County Public Library in Eupora is open four days each week to take care of many of your needs, such as sending and receiving faxes, copying, computer use, as well checking out the latest books for your reading pleasure. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Wednesday and noon- 6 p.m. Thursday. Storytime for PreK children is each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Anita Russell.
