An Ethel man is now in the Choctaw County Jail after making off with an AR-15 from Guns and Roses Pawn Shop.
Kentrell L. Dotson has been charged with petit larceny by the Ackerman Police Department and possession of a stolen firearm by ATF after he walked out of Guns and Roses with the rifle. Ackerman Police Chief Tim Cook said the incident happened around 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 1.
He noted Dotson and an unidentified juvenile female entered the pawn shop pretending to look for something else. He said while the worker at the Pawn Shop wasn’t looking, Dotson walked out with an AR-15 rifle and got into a truck with an Attala County tag.
Ackerman Police Department posted on Facebook requesting help identifying the two people in the camera footage from the pawn shop and within three hours Dotson was apprehended.
Cook said Dotson was turned in by his family members after being recognized.
His bond has been set at $6,500 and he remains in the Choctaw County Jail.
