Mathiston PD makes felony arrest The Mathiston Police Department took Michael Helms into custody Aug. 29 on charges of auto burglary and felony possession of a controlled substance.
Police Chief Blake Love said he was taken into custody based upon a warrant. Helms, 58, was booked into the Webster County Jail following the arrest. He remained in custody as of Tuesday in lieu of a $25,000 bond set by Mathiston Municipal Judge Cody Carden. Love said Helms does not yet have an attorney and is set to appear in court on Oct. 3.
