ECCC’s Phi Beta Lambda Chapter to Offer Free Public Financial Reality Fair

East Central Community College’s Theta Chi Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, along with the Office of Student Services, is hosting several Financial Reality Fairs in the college’s district that are free and open to ECCC students and to the public.

The September 11 Rotary program was Criss Turnipseed, head of Miss. Highway Patrol Honor Guard. Criss gave a very interesting program on the many functions that the Honor Guard performs. Kyle Curran arranged the program.

World War II veteran and Choctaw native honored

Most students of American history know the story of the Bataan Death March during World War II, in the Philippines, but have probably never heard of the Shoe Leather Express, a forced march by American and British POWs in the European theater that took place in 1945. The march began on February 6 and lasted for 86 days and covered 600 miles.

Hello everyone. It was a great week, but a hot one. Glad we made it through another scorcher.

Even though sometimes yard work can be somewhat taxing, I truly enjoy the opportunity I have to spend with the Lord while mowing. Listening to worship music while I work causes me to get excited and sing out loud around the church yard.

Toddler dies after accidental drowning

A toddler who was found unresponsive in a family swimming pool in Eupora last week later died, according to local authorities.

The apparent accidental drowning on West Gould Avenue was reported to the 911 Center at 5:43 p.m. Sept. 1. Webster County Coroner Steve Wells identified the victim as 3-year-old Harli Grace Young.

Holdiness spoke on military service, law enforcement service, service in the church and ways each person can use their talents to serve a community and others.
