State tallies 26 deaths due to COVID-19; shelter in place order given

The Mississippi Department of Health reported at 10 a.m. on April 2,  1177 COVID-19 positive persons in the state with 26 deaths. These cases were as of 6 p.m. April 1, 2020. Cases reported to the MSDH after 6 p.m. will be reported later.







Thomas "Tom" Henderson

Thomas "Tom" Henderson, 75, went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 23, 2020 after a twenty-year battle with the neurological disease, Primary Lateral Sclerosis. Tom was born January 27, 1945 in Ackerman and was the son of the late Albert Hugh Henderson and Jimmie Lou (McCarty) Henderson.




Margie Irene Coleman

Margie Irene Coleman passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Choctaw County Nursing Center, in Ackerman, MS.  She was 92 years old.  Miss Coleman was born September 19, 1927, in Choctaw County, MS, to John Henson and Clara Estelle(Rook) Coleman. Miss Coleman was a retired retired plant employee and homemaker.
