Winston County in District 2 will soon be installing a flashing 4-way stop and other required signs at the Crystal Ridge/ Boon Road intersection. Work on the project was to begin January 15 with weather permitting.



Memorial service held to remember Naik family

The community of French Camp, French Camp Academy and Choctaw County come together Monday, January 14 to remember three students killed in a house fire in December.

A memorial service to honor Sharron Naik, 17, Joy Naik, 15, and Aaron Naik, 14 was held Monday, January 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the  French Camp Presbyterian Church.




Supervisors discuss outstanding justice court fines

During their first meeting of 2019, on Monday, January 7, the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors discussed the Justice Court aging report.

The Justice Court is required by law to provide this report to the Board twice a year. The report showed that Choctaw County has $775K dollars in outstanding fines.
