STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Interest in gardening has nearly kept pace with social distancing and self-isolation rates across the country as the COVID-19 pandemic has circled the globe.

While nothing seems simpler than taking a plant out of a pot and putting it into a hole in the soil, true garden success requires much more than that.




Summer camps, conferences canceled at MSU as organizers explore virtual program options

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State offers a variety of educational and entertaining summer camps each year, but the university is announcing that all face-to-face or in-person camps—and conferences—will be canceled through August 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


State tallies 29 deaths due to COVID-19; shelter in place order starts today at 5 p.m.

The Mississippi Department of Health reported at 10 a.m. on April 3, 1358 COVID-19 positive persons in the state with 29 deaths. These cases were as of 6 p.m. April 2, 2020. Cases reported to the MSDH after 6 p.m. will be reported later.
