Nick Reed, Boo Reed, Jeff Reed, and Ray Reed, also known as The Reed Brothers from Louisville, were recently awarded 2 new award and 6 Top 5-GoldenMedallions to add to their collection at the 62nd Annual international Country Gospel Music Awards show in West Plains, Missouri.
The Reed Brothers, along with fellow Steel Guitarist, Raymond Miller of Starkville, make up the group and have been involved with IGGMA Association for 5 years now.
This year the group brought home winning awards in the category of "Band of the Year" and "Album of the Year" for their latest CD, "Holding On" in which their title track is currently at #2 nationwide on Cashbox 100's Billboard Chart. Along with the 2 awards, the group also brought home 6, Top-5 Golden Medallions for Instrumentalist of the Year; Raymond Miller, Male Vocalist of the Year: Nick Reed, Crossover Artist of the Year, Group of the Year, Song of the Year; The Creek, and Songwriter of the Year; Nick Reed.
The Reed Brothers are the sons of Wyatt (Buck) and Dorothy (Dot) Reed of Louisville, MS. Growing up as Air Force brats, each son is from different spot on the map. Oldest son Jeff: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Ray: San Angelo, Texas, Boo: Tripoli, Libya, and Nick; Alexandria, Louisiana.
Finally settling down in Winston County after Buck's retirement from the Air Force, the four boys still call Louisville home. Each son is also employed by the Taylor Group and its affiliates. Jeff and Boo are both employed by Taylors Sudden Services and Ray is in Sales at Taylor Machine Works while Nick holds employment with Kloeckner Metals, (Temtco) formerly owned by Taylors.
