Blythe Creek Baptist Church VBS
Vacation Bible School at Blythe Creek Baptist Church will be held on Friday, June 14 from 6pm- 8:30pm and Saturday, June 15 from 9:30am-3pm. The theme of VBS will be In the Wild: Amazing Encounters with Jesus. There will be classes for children coming out of pre-k all the way up to 6th grade.

HEART & SOUL HEALTH FAIR
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and Upsilon Pi Omega Chapter presents the Heart & Soul Health Fair. The health fair will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at W.O. Shivers Park in Maben, MS. The event will be from 9:00 am -11am. There will be free screenings and giveaways, a free onsite fitness class, and free medication counseling. There will be music, activities for the youth , door prizes and healthy snacks for all attendees.

Family Law Clinic to be held
MS Volunteer Lawyers Project will host a Family Law Clinic for Choctaw and Winston Counties at 9 a.m., Friday, June 28 at the Winston County Courthouse. Topics will include emancipation, guardianship, irreconcilable differences divorce, name change, and simple wills. Qualified participants meet one-on-one with an attorney for free. Please bring any documents related to your case.

Dr. Jeff Harris will provide guidance on how to start a colony of honey bees in the spring and properly care for it to give it the best chance of surviving its first winter. Farm Pond & Small Lake Management Workshop
A farm pond and small lake management workshop will be held Thursday, June 13 at 1:00pm at 1202 Enon Road in Louisville. Bill Maily, Extension Associate in Sport Fishing, Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture, will conduct the workshop. Topics to be discussed: seining practices, fish population management, alkalinity testing, fertility, harvest practices, fish densities and aquatic weed identification and control. Holmes Community College is offering Basic Manufacturing Training in Choctaw County next week.
Training will be Monday-June 14 at the Choctaw County Career Technology Center in Ackerman. The class is open to 2019 high school graduates only.
Training will include industrial math, precision measurement, industrial safety, CPR/first aid certification and ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification. Local employers will be onsite to interview those who complete the training.
