Park, Inc. (FODP) held a Grand Opening of the Center Hill Farmers’ Market this past Friday morning. The Farmers’ Market is a special project in the Ollie Dailey Center, located at 10625 Highway 15 South in Louisville (adjacent to Dean Park). This project has been in the works all year. The shed was built by FODP members and was financially supported by the community. It has water and will have electricity. The grand opening featured homegown produce, pies, preserves, and other items for sale. Additionally, Dr. Alex Brooks and his team administered COVID vaccines and boosters on site, free of charge. The mission of the Center Hill Farmers’ Market is to provide a safe marketplace in the rural area, the Center Hill Community of Louisville, and to residents of East Central Mississippi. This will be done by supplying locally grown food and value-added products and crafts and by providing access to healthy food and promoting healthy lifestyles for all Mississippi residents. Potential vendors may contact FODP for applications, fees, and rules: James Jordan, (662) 705-0500 or Elmetra Patterson, (510) 672- 2106.
