The Board of Aldermen for the Town of Ackerman met in a regular session on Tuesday evening Aug. 2, 2022.
During the meeting, several items were on the agenda, according to Mayor Dale Reid.
A motion to advertise for site clean up for the new baseball park. The Town of Ackerman will receive bids until 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, for the removal of all stumps and debris from the 16 acres located between College Street and Hwy 12.
The board voted to accept a quote from Choctaw Concrete for a new sidewalk to connect the Governors Park with the walking track, located on Commerce Street in downtown Ackerman.
The board voted to adopt a cost-living adjustment for full-time town employees in the amount of $2.00 per hour.
The board voted to accept funds appropriated by the state of Mississippi in the amount of $200,000 for street repairs.
The board voted to adopt a resolution to apply for American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) funds for various infrastructure projects.
The Town of Ackerman will hold a budget hearing Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at 5 p.m., in the boardroom of Town Hall.
In abiding by the 10 full office days between the budget hearing and again conducting regular business, the next regular meeting will be of the board will be Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at 5:30 p.m.
A new budget year for the Town of Ackerman will begin Oct. 1, 2022.
