Supervisors discuss lease of former Hardwire building

In a called meeting on Thursday, May 16, the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors heard from Lara Bowman, Executive Director of the Enterprise, concerning the interest of Polo Custom Products in leasing the Hardwire building which was vacated when Hardwire recently moved its operations to Louisville.



Supervisors grant funds to Hospital Board

In their meeting of Monday, May 6, the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors met with members of the Choctaw Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees who were requesting a grant from the County in the amount of $649K. Medical Center CFO Steve Maranelli reported that the hospital is able to meet its operating costs, but not to satisfy the debt.





Ackerman Aldermen hear annexation update

At their May meeting, the Ackerman Board of Aldermen heard from Mike Slaughter concerning Phase 1 of the annexation study. Slaughter stated that the annexation of the proposed study area would increase the population by approximately 500 residents, which would bring the Town’s population near 2K which is the official definition of a city.
