On Tuesday 30, a swearing-in ceremony was held for two new City of Louisville police officers. Friends and family gathered in the board room as Mayor Will Hill issued the oath to Kylan Harris and James Mask.

100 Years Ago – April 25, 1919

Notice is given to all parties interested in the Betheden Cemetery that you are requested to meet at the cemetery on Friday morning before the second Saturday in May to clean off the cemetery.  There will be memorial services held on the second Saturday in May.  Everybody invited to attend. 

ECCC SkillsUSA Students take top Honors at State Competition


Numerous East Central Community College career and technical students took top honors in the Mississippi SkillsUSA state competition held recently in Jackson.  Those receiving first place honors will represent Mississippi and compete at the National Skills and Leadership Conference in Louisville, Ky., in June.

U.S. Postal Service letter carriers and local communities conducting Nation's Largest Single-Day Food Drive, May 11


JACKSON, MS--With the help of sponsors, volunteer organizations and U.S. Postal Service employees in 10,000 communities nationwide, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 26th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 11. Stamp Out Hunger is the nation’s largest single-day food drive.
