HCC honors

Academic and technical students with exemplary quality point averages are recognized at the end of the fall and spring semesters by being named to the President's or Dean's list. To be eligible for such recognition a student must be enrolled in at least twelve semester hours.



Visitation numbers for Natchez Trace Parkway are released

HEADQUARTERS, TUPELO, MS: “In October 2018, the Natchez Trace Parkway experienced a slight decrease in the number of recreational visits below the 2017 figures,” stated Superintendent Mary Risser. “This year, 528,068 visitors used the Parkway in October compared to 529,567 who were counted in 2017.”

Bridge out

As requested by OSARC, bridge on the Highpoint-Weir Road was closed Thursday, December 20, 2018. Winston county has repaired a piling and are awaiting on OSARC approval to reopen the bridge.




ICC honors

Officials at Itawamba Community College have released the honors list for the 2018 fall semester.
Named to the president’s list, which includes those students with a 3.8-4.0 grade point average were

Vaughn visits with congressman

Vicki Vaughn of Mathiston (fourth from r.) and other Thad Cochran Agricultural Leadership Program fellows visited with 3rd District Congressman Gregg Harper (l.) in Washington in mid-November. While in the city, the group was able to take a tour of the U.S. Capitol building and the National Archives Vault with Harper.
