The Eupora Rotary Club heard an update from Webster County School District administrators on Aug. 27.
Superintendent Brian Jones and Sue Anne Boatman, director of federal programs and curriculum, presented the update. Their presentation included these highlights:
The Maben Home and Garden Club is happy to announce that the yard of Teresa Hendrix won the Yard of the Month for August.
The sign was placed by club member Pat Harpole. Each month the club assigns a member to view the yards in the Maben area and judge them on “Curb Appeal.”
Mississippi Cares, an innovative proposal for health care coverage, was the focus of last week’s Eupora Rotary Club program.
Robin Mixon, administrator at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora and a fellow Rotarian, presented the program on July 23.
Sheila Fondren of Bellefontaine was recently recognized by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was awarded certificates from the Volunteer Genealogist Committee, Membership Committee and America 250! Task Force Committee for her dedicated service and work for the DAR.
Lions Club District 30-M Second Vice District Gov. Andy Kalinowski recently swore in the 2019-20 Eupora Lions Club officers.
The new officers are Lisa Fulgham, president; Brian Hubbard, first vice president; Mary Jo Bailey, second vice president; Harold Whitaker, treasurer; and Hays Burchfield, secretary.

Mrs. Mixon spoke about the recent award of NMMC-Eupora. It was awarded 2019 Outstanding Mississippi Small Rural Hospital from the Mississippi Hospital Association.
