Gore advances in sheriff’s race

David Gore has advanced to the general election in his bid to become Webster County’s next sheriff.

He received the most votes in the Democratic primary runoff election on Aug. 27 against Casey Henderson. Gore collected 56% of the vote, defeating Henderson 1,453 votes to 1,124, according to unofficial final results with affidavits.




Cause helps people enjoy outdoor adventures

Rob “Bobcat” Robinson is continuing his mission of bringing people together to enjoy outdoor adventures and sharing the importance of being an organ donor.

The Webster Countian is the founder of Forever Outdoors, a non-profit organization designed to promote organ donation awareness and help people who can’t enjoy the outdoors.








Board approves officer transfer reimbursement

Eupora aldermen have authorized payment of a “transfer reimbursement” to the city of Starkville for a police officer’s training expenses.

The reimbursement involves the training of Officer David Fonseca, who the city of Eupora initially hired as a part-time non-certified police officer trainee in October 2016.
